The rehearsal process is a fundamental part of any production.
As a performer myself, I personally think it’s essential that the director/choreographer should turn up with a clear plan of what they want to achieve in that rehearsal. Whether that’s exactly what they end up is a different matter - being collaborative and allowing the cast some flexibility in character interpretation or changing part of a dance routine because it doesn’t work is important to gain commitment and engagement but it shouldn’t take you too far from your creative vision.

Angus always directs from a place of clear vision, he choreographs from an understanding and appreciation of the musical subtext, staging pieces that excite”. - Alex McKinven

“As a director, Angus runs a calm and collaborative rehearsal room that allows people to try new ideas but with a clear end vision. It’s always a fun place”. - James Franey

"I have performed in a number of shows both directed and/or choreographed by Angus and have loved working with him each time. He is extremely creative and collaborative, always striving to bring out and showcase the best of his cast and the material performed. He works his casts hard to produce a high standard but whilst always professional ensures the fun does not get lost along the way. " - Emma Fyson
